Profile bio

About Shashi Sathiraju, Jd Mba

To this day, I still remember the phrase that was uttered the first time I asked for assistance in solving a business problem: “We can’t provide any support, but if you are up to the challenge, good luck to you”. And to that, I have always answered “Guess I better get to work.” The summer after my senior year of high school, I worked as an intern for a hospital's medical records division. This department was required to audit patient charts monthly to ensure that the hospital was meeting quality standards. A typical audit could last more than two months, which generated outdated information for the Executive Board. The Medical Records division was not a priority for the IT team, so I taught myself the necessary skills to both capture the information in a database, and then display it in a dashboard view. Within 8 weeks, I went from a complete novice to a proto-full stack developer; the resulting application cut the completion time of an audit from 2 months to three days. I later learned that the hospital saved approximately $75,000, which was what an outside consulting firm would have charged to develop the same solution. More recently, I consulted with a company that was completing a healthcare acquisition. While discussing patient accounts receivable with the accounting department, I discovered that the department would routinely provide refunds to patients who stated that they had overpaid on their accounts. This was because the EMR (electronic medical record) system that the hospital employed could not track collections effectively. As before, there were no resources available to fix this process, and the total leakage was potentially over $100,000 per year. Utilizing nothing more than an Excel spreadsheet and a SharePoint document library, I got to work and developed a process to accurately capture patient payments. This ensured that every office knew exactly how much their staff was collecting, the hospital administration could see the total revenue collected, and the accounting department could definitively confirm whether a patient was owed a refund. Start to finish, the new approach was again completed in only 8 weeks. When life gives you nothing to work with, teaching yourself what is required to succeed is the only option. My goal is to make a meaningful difference using whatever tools are available to me, with a focus on reducing complexity, need for training, and a need for costly application or license fees.

Lead Business Execution Consultant - Contract Management

Current

Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Primarily responsibility is to design, implement, and socialize a contract management lifecycle program in the Service Provider Management group within the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence. This involves all aspects of the group, from intake to downstream impacts. In this role, I have achieved the following milestones:1. Implemented a low-code contract management application that integrates SharePoint, Teams, Planner, and Power BI, allowing users to create a new contract by leveraging existing system data and move it to through to contract execution all within a single application, which integrates status gates that require fields to be completed prior to moving onto the next stage.2. When a contract moves through certain stages, it will automatically generate adaptive cards in Microsoft Teams utilizing Power Automate and notify other stakeholders that the contract is ready for next steps and review.3. Utilizing Power BI web reports, all data from the contract management application is capable of being reported out to leadership, including a currently deployed report that shows all contracts that are currently being negotiated prior to execution. Contracts are broken down by stage, show details including cost estimates, time spent in each stage, as well as a summary of the contract and the risk if the contract is not signed on time. 4. In addition, all legacy contracts from organization formation till present are being loaded, and will reflect a single source of truth for approximately $500 million in spend once effort is completed. This application also allows for integration with other functions within Service Provider Management, including connecting to Invoice and Forecasting systems, as well as feeding inputs into cost saving efforts.

I am primarily focused on remediating Wells Fargo contracts with third party vendors to ensure that contracts comply with relevant statutes and regulations. I have also developed multiple solutions to improve business performance utilizing the Agile framework to improve collaboration with business owners. These include: 1. Attestation Portal – Supply Chain consultants are required to attest that they attend monthly trainings. I built a solution utilizing SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate that performs the following:a. Adds user to both a SharePoint list while also automatically adding them to the SharePoint Permission Groupb. Create a new record for all users identified as needing to attest with a single button click.c. Update the records of all users who attended the training through Microsoft Teams by leveraging the Attendance reportd. Automatically notify users who have not attested Finally, I focused on educating the process owner to consider adopting a product owner framework 2. Vendor Communication Platform – As part of the remediation process, third party vendors must be contacted to provide signatures for legal documents. This platform now allows for the following:a. Store relevant vendor data in a SharePoint Online list b. Use Microsoft Planner to track the current status of each contact effort and update the underlying data source when a task changes c. Use Microsoft Word to include vendor specific information from the list eliminating the need for manual creation.d. Use Excel to build a dashboard to provide near real-time updates on the status of each vendor effort. I have also developed subject matter expertise for SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform. I have conducted trainings and information sessions for other team members across the Supply Chain organization to socialize the capabilities of the ecosystem, and how process improvement can be accomplished without the need for expensive consulting firms.
