CCA Bio (abbreviated):Shastyn Blomquist joined the CCA team in 2017 as assistant curator to the executive director/chief curator to coordinate CCA’s exhibitions and curate CCA’s Cinematheque Gallery exhibitions. She graduated magna cum laude from Santa Fe University of Art & Design with a BFA in Business Arts Management, a concentration in Art History, and previous studies in Design and Architecture at Washington State University. Shastyn comes from a diverse background in the creative economy, business, and arts administration. In addition to her role at CCA, Shastyn works in sales and marketing for Turner Carroll Gallery and is an independent curator for a restaurant in Albuquerque. She was a co-founder of ArtBar by Catalyst Club, a member-based non-profit bar and art space founded with the goal of making general operating grants to selected arts organizations and one of the first non-profit bars in the country. Shastyn has also been a contributing artist and sponsor of Women & Creativity Month. Her photography has been in several exhibitions, including two museums, and has won several awards.“The overarching theme through my career has been connection. Co-founded Catalyst Club, the umbrella 501(c)7 organization with three other partners in 2012. Catalyst Club is dedicated to alternative philanthropic endeavors, and ArtBar was its first project. ArtBar was a non-profit private club that served as a gathering and event space for its members and guests, consisting of the arts community and its supporters, with the intention of giving general operating grants out of the net proceeds of bar sales to selected arts non-profits every fiscal year.Designed logo and branding and oversaw marketing and outreach efforts. Managed budgets and contract negotiation, execution, and compliance. Scheduled and logistically managed a wide variety of events from weddings to arts events, performances, mixers, and even square dances. Advised on and managed effective plans for non-profit partners' events.
