Contracted to rebuild DSST’s network, systems infrastructure and processes from the ground up to support the scaling needs of a move from one to seven campuses. As the Sr. member of the technology team, I have complete oversight of DSST’s one to one laptop program encompassing nearly ten thousand DSST owned student and staff laptops as well as all network, server and support equipment required to maintain 100% uptime. • Responsible for developing and maintaining DSST’s 10 year technology plan, to allow for a seamless move from 640 users to over 10000.• Responsible for site selection, design and construction of new datacenter space in support of DSST’s rapid growth. • Responsible for design and implementation of staff development and mentorship programs.• Developed internal work flow to allow segregation of day-to-day operations staff from project engineers. • Implemented change control, helpdesk, inventory management, server and laptop imaging processes to allow for a smooth transition from one to multiple buildings.• Redesigned and implemented all aspects for DSST’s LAN and WAN networks, and server resources to allow DSST to scale from 1 to 7 campuses.• Implemented internal and external network and system security plans to protect student and staff data in one of the most hostile computing environments ever conceived.

Hired to replace the outbound VP of Technology and to re-architect infrastructure operations and software teams to address ManiaTV’s growth related problems. As a member of the Sr. Management Team I maintained complete oversight of all technology needs. • Was responsible for operations of everything that plugs in to a wall that does not cook or cool food at 3 US.• Was responsible for day to day management of all aspects of ManiaTV’s software team including managing project tasks related to their implementation of their SDLC methodologies. • Lead a diverse team of technical professionals and managers to ensure a consistent architectural design methodology and support structure. • Acted as top tier of troubleshooting and design support for all system and network needs for all in house services. • Was responsible for day to day operations and policy control for 24/7/365 live TV network on the internet, delivering over 20 million minutes of video per week and over 27 million separate transactions per day. • Was responsible for ongoing software needs of the company to meet both customer needs and advertiser demands. • Scaled operations to handle over 20gb/s of bandwidth to the internet and over 240 terabytes of online storage in support of ManiaTVs’ Video on Demand system and live system. • Developed team and processes reasonable for 24/7/365 site operations to meet internal requirements of 99.999% service availability.• Was responsible for budget creation and adherence for all technology departments within the organization.• Negotiated best rate and terms for all hosting, bandwidth and carrier circuits. Brought on to build the Integrated Operation center combining Sungard’s legacy network operation center, systems operation center, and help desk along with the newly acquired Inflow LLC, operations under one roof. I had direct management responsibility for operations encompassing over 5,000,000 square feet of raised data center floor, over 35,000 network devices, and more than 20,000 mid and low range servers. Responsible for managing all internal and external SLA’s associated with a wide variety of products and services. Was point man for internal Sungard crisis management related to our global managed and disaster recovery data centers.• Managed and executed all tiers of troubleshooting procedures for disaster recovery, managed services and other contracted products. • Acted as last line of troubleshooting support for team on network and carrier issues. This including managing direct escalations with carrier support managers. • Developed internal and external abuse communication and response plans. • Managed both provisioning and day to day operations of LEC and outside carrier interconnections and peering.• Managed response team for quick repair of network and systems that handle over 70% of all NASDAQ trade closings.

Architected and designed Webex’s Global network which became the cornerstone of the WebEx offering, including locations in San Jose, San Diego, Denver, Washington DC, London, and Hong Kong including site selection and datacenter design. • Moved WebEx from a shrink wrap to a world class online service. • Architected and deployed the WebEx Interactive Network (now SaaS). • Developed all internal processes for maintenance and expansion of the WIN. • Architected and deployed all NMS related systems including, OpenView, Concord and CiscoWorks. • Installed and managed Cisco gear in support of WebEx’s global network.• Maintained day-to-day operations of WebEx’s peering and transit links. • Negotiated Peering relationships for all production networks and handled customer network integration and troubleshooting. • Expanded WebEx’s IT department to become Global Technical Operations, encompassing IS, Hosted Services, Network Operations, and Network Design/Architecture groups. • Developed supporting structure and personnel procedures to ensure proper maintenance of the WebEx information services infrastructure. • Designed and handled day to day operations of all aspects of WebEx’s datacenters including HVAC, power distribution and network systems.
