Core Acquisition involves retrieving a sample of rock from an oil well, usually with core diameter (OD) of 4 inches and lengths up to 420 feet at a time. RoqSCAN service aids in the design of hydraulic fracing by evaluating cutting samples with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to obtain pertinent rock properties, most notably mineralogy. Worked closely with customers in this office based position to ensure that the correct tools were selected as per customer’s goals and the oil well application. Supervised a staff of up to 60 direct reports that would interface with the customer at the well site. Ensured that competent field employees were performing the work and that the correct downhole tool configurations were sent to location. Took ownership with the on-site customer representative to determine the most efficient way to achieve the safety and operational goals of the oil well.Duties and Achievements include:Volunteered for field work to master the technical skills to become the best DS Coordinator possible.Completed the five week Directional Drilling Academy with a final grade of 98%.Worked on different locations in Colorado, Wyoming and North Dakota. Supervised the well site operations and ensured that competent field employees were performing the work. Managed field employee development with regards to both formal BHI training and on the job training. This included developing a training program, selecting the work locations that would stretch the field employees’ skill set, college recruiting and conducting hundreds of interviews. Worked on location offshore in the Gulf of Mexico to bring real-time data of the oil well bottom-hole location and rock properties to the customer with Baker Hughes’ high tech Formation Evaluation tools. The Field Service Engineer was responsible for working with the entire rig crew to ensure that the drilling operation was conducted as safely and efficiently as possible. Duties and Achievements include:Achieved the status of Radiation Protection Supervisor and was rated competent on all commercial Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools run in the GoM.Supervised offshore and deepwater BHI crews of up to four people.Worked as the Lead Hand over both Directional and LWD personal on several Rotary Steerable (AutoTrak) assignments.Assigned to work in a variety of locations in the GoM ranging from ultra deepwater, the continental shelf, coastal waters and five land locations.Worked in teams with people that had diverse geographical and educational backgrounds.Participated in a 24/7/365 on call work schedule.
