I believe I was put on this Earth to teach.From a very young age, I had the goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. I received my bachelors degree in elementary education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2015, and become a licensed teacher that same year. I would spend 4 years teaching at Blanche Pope Elementary, a small school in Waimanalo on the island of Oahu, with a 80% Native Hawaiian population. My love for teaching would expand to my other passion in my life Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I began teaching classes at my academy in 2017, and received my black belt in 2019. This experience led me to a realization that my love for teaching wasn't strictly relative to being inside a traditional classroom setting. One of my Jiu-Jitsu students mentioned to me about her career as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and encouraged me to look into it.This has led me to my current journey, as I am currently in the middle of my masters program at Chaminade University, where I look forward to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist in the future.
