As Quality and Safety Specialist Shauna’s role involves providing assistance in the development of quality and safety projects within the healthcare sector. Shauna supports with development of policies and procedures, training and risk management.Shauna has a particular interest in the disability sector having spent several years as a support care worker. During this time she worked with adults with learning disabilities, in residential care and day services and also undertook the role of employment facilitator. Shaunas roles included houseparent in the residential services and skilled instructor in day services. She has worked with services users through Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and sign language. Shauna brings an international perspective to the areas of mental health and disability services having worked as a support worker in Australia.Shauna holds a BA (Hons) Degree in applied Social Studies in Social Care and has completed short term courses in Adult CPR and Choking , Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, Child Protection, First Aid, Managing Challenging Behavior, Diabetes, Stesolid training and Personal Center Planning.Specialties: Disability Services.
