Visual Rituals Media, LLC, is a boutique multimedia company offering three services: (1) mission media narratives for statement-making academic groups and businesses and (2) lifestyle photography focusing on the wedding experience and (3) industry forecasting and industry education. • Our mission media narratives have helped establish the voice of various academic groups across N.C. as they expand their research impact and pursue stakeholder investments. Our business and nonprofit clients are attracted to how well we pre-visualized the image contributions to annual reports. Images are featured in Cambridge University Press, the World Bank and the Washington Post, among others.• Our guest speaker appearances at conferences follows from the success of our lifestyle photography brand that focuses on weddings. Our teaching circuit has included Imaging USA, WPPI, ClickAway Conference and Adorama INSPIRE Week.• Our industry forecasting can be found in our various online articles and print publications and our industry education service grows out of our partnerships with various businesses like Olympus Cameras and Adorama.

ONLINE EXPANSION:• Conducted high-level interviews and shaped the messaging of alumni for an online-only graduation that included working with the NBA Commissioner, a VP of HBO, an ESPN Analyst, the Chief Legal Analyst for ABC News, and the Senior VP of Sustainability for Koehler Industries• Coordinated with the Pentagon and the Air Force to get privileged access to interview locations with alumni• Launched new micro-sites for special online-only events during the pandemic • Advised faculty on advanced techniques for teaching fully online• Expanded the Video Working Group to include still imagery and used online meetings to increase the guest speakers to diversify the group’s educational value

OVERHAUL STRATEGY:• Planned the new webpage for the Workplace Policy resource guide in partnership with the chair and director of graduate studies, a DEI initiative• Remade and modernized the local DDS kiosk system to become a more useful integration in consultation with Duke OIT• Transitioned the department’s alumni strategy from print and mailers to events, online engagement and philanthropy in concert with the Development office in the Duke Graduate School• Created new alumni events at Homecoming in partnership with the Duke Graduate School and the Duke Alumni Association• Guided the Director of Graduate Studies into an online strategy for marketing the M.A. program through digital brochures and two stylized documentaries that highlight diversity, academic rigor and personal wellness.PIONEER WORK:* Received grant monies from the Associate Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education to support new faculty initiatives that integrate multimedia into syllabus course requirements* Taught multiple classes in partnership with faculty in different Trinity College departments as part of changes in syllabi resulting from new multimedia initiatives and resources* Trained graduate students to use multimedia to record qualitative data for their research projects* Singularly managed and grew the largest political science department social media subscriber base, in aggregate * Consulted with faculty on how to use multimedia to specifically target grants and foundations* Partnered with the department faculty to advise and mentor graduate students who pursue non-academic careers

CREATIVE SUPPORT:• Advised faculty on stage presence in front of the camera and guided faculty on brevity and script• Built a multimedia website for a college course and an embedded video series produced for an online audience• Produced branded themed series of videos like “Academic Life” and “Profiles in Political Science” to grow a subscriber base• Established new social media accounts to reach wider demographics and collect user and traffic trends• Created and oversaw the digital asset management of department-wide files for all non-research communicationPARTNERSHIP APPROACH:• Partnered with the American Political Science Association and Dr. Paula McClain’s team at Duke to create and coordinate the promotion of the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute marketing materials, a DEI initiative• Collaborated with University Communications and Duke Today writers to create new content to position our faculty• Worked with Trinity College to improve new Alumni webpage designs• Coordinated with the @DukeStudents social media accounts to grow undergraduate interest• Co-created the Duke Video Working Group in partnership with University Communications to standardize and offer education to Duke communicators

• Coordinated and directed associate level photographers at events across N.C. on behalf of a nationwide agency of photographers.
