Directed and revitalized two key not-for-profit programs that connected local school systems and educational institutions to wooden boat building, industrial art, and design education. Developed college curriculum that used boat building and woodworking as a vehicle for enabling creative confidence in non-art majors. Partnered with Maine College of Art to deliver rapid prototyping curriculum for aspiring art educators.

Delivered PTC’s first high-tech manufacturing program on time, along with a cutting-edge facility focused on operating and troubleshooting robotic assembly systems.Recruited manufacturing industry leaders to identify pressing skills gaps and incorporated their needs into a curriculum that created more relevant and effective future employees. Obtained specialty ANSI instructor certification that prepared adult students for direct entry into the high-tech manufacturing workforce and higher education.

Implemented a highly visible strategic plan that transformed a state-of-the-art marine facility for a new portfolio in innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. This positioned the Center to receive one of the largest philanthropic commitments in university history.Led the successful transition during a major leadership and portfolio restructuring that required comprehensive shifts in research priorities, space utilization, and equipment allocation.Directed day-to-day operations, led weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, and managed capital projects to ensure enhanced and uninterrupted services for over 100 daily end-users.

Contributed to the MSC’s designation as a University Center of Excellence and promoted to Assistant Director for having:-Cultivated an approachable, student-centered staff valued for their creativity and resourcefulness, and recognized for hosting novel internships in industrial aquatic life support operations. -Increased innovative capacity and enhanced grant competitiveness by establishing a student-centered workshop for the design and development of custom marine research equipment.-Expanded facility and field operations by growing a research vessel fleet, establishing a scientific diving program, and launching a big data ocean observing system.

Co-developed Coral Point Count with Excel Extensions (CPCe), an inexpensive user-customizable image analysis software used to assess, monitor, and restore coral reefsAs of 2022, CPCe had over 3000 global users and 1600 journal citations, making it the de facto standard for benthic cover estimation software.

Contributed the the planning and execution of high priority non-clinical pharmaceutical studies under the auspices of Good Laboratory Procedures (GLP’s).Expedited study mobilization and sample tracking accuracy through the development a networked thermal labeling system.
