Strategic Consultant

Melbourne, Australia

Jan 2020 - Mar 2024

Product Manager, Solutions Architect

Melbourne, Australia

Key Achievements• Facilitated Balance Scorecard workshops allowing my teams to view and assess all aspects of the business, and further enabled us to set initiatives and track associated KPIs. This process revealed areas of focus in development practices and sales pipelines and enabled us to focus on culture and ongoing learning.• Managed all aspects of workflow from client engagement to the first stage of delivery, involving initial workshops and user-requirement gathering. This enabled the business to acquire feedback from clients during early project phases, reducing time costs dedicated by the development team.• Managed and professionally developed two teams focussed on the Quality System and Document Management system respectively. These teams previously consisted of only one developer in each as well as a Quality representative with systems analysis experience. I recruited talent to increase the size of these teams by up to three developers in each to support the DevOps Initiative to effectively monitor each team and provide instant feedback. I also directed the Lead Development concurrently in the development of a new product assisting the creation of forms and workflow using drag-and-drop elements, which has become an essential tool for client workshops and the foundation for system configurations.• Reduced delivery from three months to a six-to-eight week cycle on average for modules with an 85 per cent reduction in repeatable errors. The above achievements are still ongoing transformations with daily improvement updates.

May 2018 - Jan 2020

Senior Sharepoint Consultant

Melbourne, Australia

Key Achievements• Entered the business within three months of its registration and supported senior management in the development of governance and strategy for internal processes. During the first two years of my role, the business was continuously undergoing staff restructures, resulting in myself at times being the only developer and SharePoint specialist whilst managing other business functions concurrently.• Appointed as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for developing Quality Systems.• Secured the business’ first client in the Pharmaceutical industry and subsequently delivered the first business module for the client project, enabling it to meet regulatory requirements and improve process efficiency. This was achieved by bringing transparency to processes and providing actionable data for feedback.• Developed and implemented the business’ management system, including forms and action-based workflow with notifications, automated review periods, and overdue action escalation. • Expanded the business’ services into Records Management tools, including the uploading and routing of records based on selected metadata. This included managing the workflow of Word forms to be accurately declared as records and routed to a Record Centre upon completion.• Developed and implemented BI reports to report on the above process and track internal trends. This BI report system to this day remains a key continuous improvement tool for tracking system efficiency and performance.• Identified key areas of the business that were lacking in efficiency: slow customisation development, error- prone deployments, no standardised testing of architecture, and delivery delays. I attended a number of SharePoint conferences and engaged with SharePoint developers to source modern development processes, and subsequently developed and implemented a new development and deployment model for best practices implementing modern front-end development tools and frameworks.

Sep 2014 - May 2018

Web Systems Coordinator And Team Leader - Information Systems Dept.

Melbourne, Australia

Key Achievements• Developed and implemented SharePoint 2010 as a medium-sized farm, including production, staging, and development environments.• Successfully incorporated best-practice approaches to development within the web-team whilst delivering realistic development time frames for service delivery.• Developed and delivered the new corporate intranet service for the institute.• Coordinated, developed, and delivered a new online enrolment system for the institute.• Executed an analysis of key system issues and converted effective designs to deliver solutions.• Developed and delivered prototype business improvement solutions, including the conversion of paper-based forms and a BI intelligence model.• Managed all web systems projects whilst involved reporting to the IS Manager, Project Executives, and the ICT Web System Steering Committee.• Achieved the ‘buy-in/user-adoption’ necessary for the new SharePoint environment despite minimal drive from senior stakeholders, minimum resources, and a low budget.

May 2010 - Sep 2014

Web Architect

Melbourne, Australia

Key Achievements• Developed stable relationships and communication frameworks between Marketing and IT departments which improved relationships in other key areas of business delivery.• Delivered consultancy and advice to key stakeholders throughout the institute on the development and delivery of aesthetic designs for web-services that were consistent and compatible with SharePoint environments.• Engaged external consultants and developers for the institute to manage tasks associated with system maintenance projects.• Identified and coordinated solutions to major SharePoint custom application errors that caused extended timeouts which almost cost the organisation its reputation for high standards of service delivery.• Developed and implemented improved planning processes for new web servers and application infrastructure to eliminate future risks and improve testing and deployment processes as well as alternative back-up and recovery solutions.• Managed and maintained a previously unstable SharePoint 2007 platform environment and provided alternative solutions that enabled the system to be accessible to upwards of 40,000 end-users whilst development on a permanent solution was ongoing.• Developed, implemented, and managed the public-facing website project for various business areas of the institute, with each site branded and customised within the SharePoint 2007 platform incorporating multiple web technologies such as Flash, jQuery and XML.• Managed a joint-project creating a Visual Studio template enabling the rapid development of visual web-parts and local debugging whilst development was ongoing.
