Application Specialist Ii
In my current position, I manage our hydrological, thermal conductivity, and atmospheric sensor lines, including weather stations, solar radiation sensors, groundwater samplers, laboratory and field hydraulic conductivity sensors, and lysimeters. Managing these sensors includes providing support for current iterations of sensors and helping to develop improvements and next generation models of the instruments. This position also includes representing the company at tradeshows and conferences and making client visits.
Research Scientist
I led product multidisciplinary development teams made up of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers using scrum methodology to develop new environmental sensors. I also traveled to Japan on multiple occasions working on long term remediation projects in Fukushima and Miyagi Prefectures following the 2011 nuclear disaster. The projects ranged from soil remediation following nuclear contamination to groundwater remediation following saltwater infiltration of groundwater. These projects were done in conjunction with Federal and Prefecture government agencies, as well as Researchers from Meiji University and The University of Tokyo, and a citizen’s non-profit organization. My biggest accomplishment was the development of an in situ aquatic chlorophyll a sensor to help my company get into the water quality market. I also managed interns and lab technicians in the environmental R&D lab.

Worked on new product development for a variety of projects ranging from soil moisture sensors to narrow band spectroradiometers. I developed testing methods, calibration routines, fielded customer questions and troubleshooting issues that they were having with their instrumentation.
