Supervisor: Dr. Victor Yang- Developing technologies and algorithm for non-invasive imaging and dosimetry for photodynamic therapy in non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC)- Developing technologies for quantitative measurement of fluorescence in neurosurgical resection of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)

Supervisor: Drs. Albert Yee, Victor Yang, Brian Wilson, and Stuart Foster- Designed and developed an imaging platform for making patient-specific dosimetric fluorescence measurements- Prototyped and machined an imaging head with 6-degrees of freedom for ease-of-use in clinic- Designed and built MATLAB and python algorithms for data analysis and system optimization- Drafted study protocol, consented patients and conducted imaging on cancer patients

Supervisor: Dr. Victor Yang- Closely involved in the design and development of a frameless stereotactic surgical navigation systemneurosurgical procedures (Now commercialized by 7D Surgical Inc.)- Spearheaded 4 human clinical trials with prototype surgical navigation system- Assisted staff neurosurgeons with navigation in over 100 spine and brain surgeries- Designed navigation tracked neuorosurgery tools- Integrated ultrasound to neuronavigation for assessment of brain shift, tumor volume, etc.

Supervisor: Dr. Craig Simmons- Developed a highly porous fibrin-collagen co-gel that enables convective flow of media in order to maintain viability and an even distribution of cells within the existing tissue engineered construct- Optimized the hydrogel to resist rapid contraction and facilitate mesenchymal stroll cell (MSC)-induced capillary formation to promote vascularization- Established a novel protocol that utilized cylindrical micro tissues encapsulated with both MSCs and endothelial cells (ECs) randomly assembled to form tissue constructs- Developed a 3D model of the tissue engineered construct to study convective flow through tissue and optimize

Supervisor: Christine Sham (Manager, eHealth Liaison)- Performed environmental scan for various policies and strategies that are being implemented around the world in the eHealth space.- Provided assistance in visual representations of novel policy concepts around virtual healthcare, consumer ehealth, and benefits harvesting that have seen significant spread within Ontario's healthcare system.- Implemented an effective knowledge management system with the branch to improve knowledge retention and hand-off.The eHealth Liaison Branch manages accountabilities and legislative obligations and enables program delivery partners to fulfill their eHealth related mandates.The Branch is a source of information, advice and program knowledge, assisting in the facilitation of interactions between internal Ministry and external stakeholders in support of the government's eHealth priorities.
