The Director for Maintenance & Facilities oversees state maintenance planning, contracts, new product testing, maintenance program activities, stormwater management, and rest area management. They coordinate the Department's maintenance budget, capital facilities development, and capital improvement projects statewide. The Maintenance and Facilities group seeks to provide the latest tools, data, contracts, environmental oversight, and program assistance needed to maintain our lands, buildings, and roadway assets.

This position involves oversight of the construction and maintenance of roadways and infrastructure in UDOT Region 2's South district. The South District includes the south section of the Salt Lake Valley, the I-15 corridor and the Cottonwood Canyons.

In this position I lead a UDOT Construction crew in the management of several construction projects running simultaneously. The duties of the position include Construction Management, Design Constructability Reviews, Schedule Review, Inspection Oversight, Change Order negotiation, Cost Estimates, Pay Estimate Review, Project Level Budgeting, coordinating with local residents, local government and Utility Companies. Since taking the position, our crew has had the opportunity to oversee some great construction projects of variable complexity and duration.

In this position I performed several duties on a UDOT Construction crew including Construction Management, Design Constructability Reviews, Schedule Review, Inspection Oversight, Change Order negotiation, Cost Estimates, Pay Estimate Review, Project Level Budgeting, coordinating with local residents, local government and Utility Companies and other duties as assigned. I have had the opportunity to work on several projects including 3 Design Build Projects, the largest and most complicated which was the 11400 South Project which created an interchange with I-15 and a new road from State Street to Bangerter Highway. I have also worked on several innovative projects including the CFI construction on Bangerter Highway at 3100 S, 4100 S, 6200 S, 7000 S as well as the new Thru-Turn project at 12300 South.

Rotated through several divisions within UDOT such as maintenance, design, construction and the Governor's Office.
