About Shawn Morrissey

I want to solve big, hairy, complex problems. I want to create and deliver big ideas and great products. I want to be thrown into chaos, with an expectation that order is created in a relatively short amount of time.I want to build teams, and watch just how far they can go.I want my feet squarely planted in two camps - sheperding the business goals, and driving a technology strategy to support those.I want to communicate complicated technology to people who are not technical, and get them excited about the possibilities. I am NOT the top engineering manager, nor your best engineer. I want to teach. It is the best way to learn. At the end of the day, I want to use my whole brain; I want to feel used up. I want to know that I have to throw all my background, skills, expertise, and perspective at every opportunity. I want to be thrown into chaos, with an expectation that order is created in a relatively short amount of time.My experience in technology and leadership extends over 20 years across both growth and well-established companies. Most recently, I created and led the teams who delivered Macy's and Bloomingdale's award-winning iPhone, iPad and Android applications, with full P&L responsibility. Over 3,000,000 people have downloaded the apps.
