About Shawn Sims

Shawn is a designer and entrepreneur who works across various disciplines including interactive and industrial design, robotics, fabrication, architecture, and real estate. Originally from Nashville, TN, he was raised in the family construction and real estate company. He received a Bachelor's of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute, a Master's of Tangible Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University, and was a visiting scholar at the Architectural Association. He is a Prix Ars Electronica award winner and his work is a part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art, the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and The Design Museum in London. His work has been published and exhibited around the world.In 2022 he completed a new mixed use real estate development in East Nashville. He oversaw design, construction, budgeting, and leasing. In 2023 he opened SUPERSPEEDSHOP, a pro bicycle repair and custom build shop in Santa Monica, CA.
