Some of the events I've planned include high school engineering presentations to schools all over California to over 500 students, an engineering design challenge with 7 teams competing, and some projects continuing on to win state awards, and a leadership conference with 50+ students from around California.

    I have been a member of the Cal Poly Prototype Vehicles Laboratory for 1 year. PROVE is a club focused on designing innovative new automotive technology, aiming to break world records and bring sustainable transportation to the table. Our current project is a long-range electric vehicle set to break the world record for the longest distance traveled on a single battery charge. During my time on the Mechanical Team I have spearheaded the accelerator pedal design project, and the firewall design and testing projects. Additionally, this year the team will be returning to our original vehicle, 'Dawn', which is the near-record breaking fastest solar car that gained national attention, and I will be leading projects on this to improve the efficiency of the car and break the world record.

    As part of the pandemic pivot, Athena Racing held their first virtual Fabrication Camp. As Student Fabricator, I designed and built (and drove) a 6.5 horsepower drift trike. With a harbor freight Predator engine, a BMX bike, and almost every power tool I could get my hands on, I learned about fabrication and constructed our amazing trike. Additionally, to publicize the camp, I was interviewed on Racer Radio and with Athena Racing’s partners CoinUp. In the end, I helped cohost the camp, teaching over 100 girls from all across the United States (and a few international too!) about not only the building process I went through, but also about being a women in engineering.
