Managed a combined team of Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering with a total 10 members reporting into me.The Cloud Engineering team is responsible for creating self service tooling for allowing development teams to integrate with the CI/CD infrastructure, automating the provisioning of AWS cloud infrastructure and architecting new product offerings and data pipelines using AWS resources. This team operated in a Scrum model and followed engineering principles of test driven development.The SRE team is responsible for monitoring and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure which included EC2 hosts, kubernetes clusters as well as collecting and reporting application metrics. Another major responsibility of this team was to build and monitor the data pipelines in Airflow so that the data is constantly flowing from the raw source to all the customer facing applications.My role was not only to lead and motivate the 2 teams but also to be a hands on contributor in maintenance, bug fixes and incidents.

As a Sr Cloud Engineer I was expected to do the following:Work with engineering teams collaboratively to shepherd their code build to align with the build and deploy infrastructure's requirements. This involved writing the workflows in CircleCI/Jenkins using to get the application built and deployed.Work on projects to build self service tooling for various teams to be able to provision cloud infrastructure with the right level of tagging and monitoring so that the cost and health of these services can be tracked and reported.Collaborate with InfoSec teams to mitigate vulnerabilities in our infrastructure.Training and onboarding new and junior members of the team.

At RelayHealth, I was introduced to Healthcare IT. RelayHealth was traditionally an EMR based application. We provided services such as a Patient Portal and Secure Messaging to exchange EMR between patients, clinics, hospitals and doctors. RelayHealth has also built its own data platform - Fuse, which provides curated and aggregated data to customer's. This enables hospital networks to become more efficient and deliver better care.I was part of a team called Foundation Services. Our team responsibility was to provision and support the applications on the Microsoft Azure Cloud. My role was to automate all the aspects of the provisioning of the application on the Azure platform. We used ARM templates, Ansible, Python, Bash, Powershell and DSC to build our automation. We have pipelined our deployment using Jenkins.Some notable infrastructure that I wrote automation for were Cloudera clusters and ELK clusters.I was also part of the Release Engineering team. In that team I managed the build and deployment of Cloud Services (PaaS offering of Azure for .NET web and worker roles). The entire automation of this process was orchestrated using Git and TeamCity.I have been recognized by the management and my peers on multiple occasions for taking initiative, leading projects and managing timelines well.

Saba's cloud infrastructure includes 8 data centers which include 100+ unique customer and multi-tenant environments. Our collective responsibility within the Cloud Operations team is to ensure 99.5% availability of our services. My role is to work with my co-workers across regions (US, EMEA and APAC) to identify potential points of failure and address them across the Infrastructure and the application stack.• AutomationAlong with my team mates, I have worked on a number of automations for manual processes such as patch application, log collection and retrieval, log parsing tools and system maintenance scripts.• AnalysisAs part of this role, I have analyzed thread dumps, memory dumps, application logs and server logs from system outages to prepare a root cause analysis report for each incident. Based on these reports, we would interact with Engineering/ Infrastructure teams to make improvements to the application, server capacity and network/firewall adjustments.• AnalyticsAlso based on the above information we have set up metrics for memory, CPU and number of nodes in an application cluster. This allows us to a standardize the infrastructure and has brought in an overall improvement in system up-time.
