The entertainment industry has been the perfect place for me to merge my interests in learning foreign languages and data analysis. I’ve loved Korean TV shows and movies ever since I started studying the Korean language over a decade ago. By 2015, I built my language skills up enough to start taking freelance Korean-English translation assignments. I discovered Viki through my translation work and ended up joining as a financial analyst in 2017. I was able to analyze viewership data at Viki for some of the same Korean dramas I used to watch and translate.Two years later, I moved to Crunchyroll and got to compare user behavior between the kdrama and anime fandoms. The 3.5 years I spent with Crunchyroll helped solidify much of my knowledge about quantifying content performance.
