Represents the interests of multicultural students and organizations. Advises the President in decisions from a culturally inclusive perspective. Meets with the Director of Multicultural and LBGT Affairs once per semester. Has working relationship with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Student Affairs. Student participant on the Bias Response Team, which can either mediate reported instances of bias in the community, or refer reporting parties to the appropriate department. Worked on the Emerson Police Department’s Community Council to bring together ECPD and the rest of the community through transparency and social events. Personal primary goal- mandated cultural competency programs for all faculty to reduce instances of bias that occur in the classroom.

One of over 100 student volunteers to welcome over a thousand new students to the Emerson Community. Participated in training workshops to better assist students with their adjustment to the community. Facilitated a group of 10-20 students personally, providing a more direct point of information and personal support, including but not limited to campus locations, student services, residence hall information, and the city of Boston. Lead my own training workshop on Multiple Intelligence Theory to 50 Orientation Leaders to enhance their ability to communicate important information to students who think in diverse ways. Learned choreography to a dance that is presented to new students in less than a week. Coordinated elevator operation in two buildings over the course of two move in days for more than 500 students. Always applied energy and creativity into the work, by means of personalized hand crafted letters to new students over the summer, bright costumes during move in and other Orientation events, while maintaining the structure and responsibility of the position. Assessed personal strengths through the StrengthsQuest survey, resulting in the top strengths of- Empathy, Connectedness, Strategic, Ideation, and Resolution. Protected student information in accordance with FERPA. Maintained a strict 8-10 hour daily schedule over the course of two and a half weeks before the beginning of each semester from the Fall of 2014 until the Spring of 2016. Adapted and extended responsibilities from the Fall into the Spring to accommodate the decrease of volunteers.
