Researching ambulatory blood pressure monitoring phenotypes (ABMP) and outcomes in pediatric patients under Dr. Amy Kogon

Worked under Policy Associate Rachel Karasik and the Oceanic Plastic Pollution team on the Duke Plastics Policy Inventory, a database of international, national, and subnational public policies targeting plastic pollution. In addition, I devised a zero-waste operational framework, also targeting plastic reduction, for the Nicholas Institute.

Worked as part of the Global Environmental Monitoring: Technologies and Applications team under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Dickerson. Introduced to developing through Fusion 360 and Arduino circuits. Worked on fixing or installing instrumentation throughout North Carolina including Merchants Millpond State Park and Pettigrew State Park. Deployed low-cost drifters in the water of the US Coast Guard Base at Fort Macon. Received the Innovation in Science Award for my research. Work culminated in my final research paper which was on the topic of the calibration of low-cost sensors in Barrow, Alaska.

Reviewed the applications of 14 international candidates applying for the Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative for 2022. Judged each application on entrepreneurial ability, community engagement, quality of responses, and recommendations.

Researched and co-authored a white paper on the topic of implementing environmental education (EE) in secondary schools. Conducted virtually from June to August with the assistance of Duke University undergraduate students. Culminated with an independent environmental project of my choice on the basics of the biomass industry to present to the cohort of interns during the final capstone session.
