Though I was offered an HR role early into my career, I didn't quite understand what HR was all about and chose to continue working on the operational side of transportation. Since the beginning of my career, I have accomplished much in varying functions including customer service, pricing, sales administration, key account management, operations management and human resources. Before transitioning to HR, I became drawn to helping my team meet their goals, work with them to develop their skills and truly wanted them to feel they were a valued member of the organization. I thought this is what Human Resources should look like and started to inquire about a career change.Despite having well qualified candidates for an open HR role, Maersk gave me the opportunity to move into HR based on my performance based achievements and solid track record. I began my journey into HR and what an amazing experience it has been so far.Over the years I have developed expertise in California laws, employee relations, labor/union relations, performance management, succession planning, recruitment, coaching, training and development and so much more.
