• Performed a control hardware-in-the-loop integration testing of a real-time automation controller (SEL-3530 RTAC) establishing communication with a microgrid modeled in the real-time digital simulator (RTDS) using DNP3 protocol, which is done as a project in collaboration with a local electrical utility.• Mentored and advised 4th year undergraduate students in capstone group working on universal power HIL interface device.

• Enhanced the reliability of a modular multilevel converter (MMC) experimental test bench by repairing damaged power semiconductor modules and diagnosing/resolving various technical issues.• Performed detailed analysis and drafted a manuscript to be published in a renowned journal that embraces innovations in electric apparatus for power delivery (IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery).

• Conducted research on analyzing a new direct AC/AC power converter topology with an integrated transformer. The performance of the converter and developed controls are tested using PLECS simulation software. A scaled-down 208/104 V, 1 kW three-phase laboratory prototype is developed and the converter operating principle is further validated by conducting a series of experiments.

• Designed and conducted laboratory practical sessions for Electrical Engineering undergraduates covering areas such as high voltage engineering, power systems, power electronics, and electrical machines & motor drives.

• Led the design and implementation of a boiler automatic blowdown system for a pharmaceuticals manufacturing facility which helped to save fuel consumption by 133 Liters per annum and increase theoverall efficiency of the boiler by 5%.• Earned clients’ and consultant parties' trust by attending project meetings and effectively communicating issues, design changes and requirements.

• Obtained in-plant training at thermal/hydro power generation, transmission & distribution, power system monitoring & control, and generation planning units.• Involved in an inspection of a coal power plant unit during an event of a breakdown and participated in monthly routine maintenance of 11 kV distribution lines.

• Designed and prepared estimations for extra low voltage (ELV) systems including public address systems, CCTV systems, HVAC systems and access control systems for commercial and residential buildings.• Communicated with contractors and technical staff when preparing proposals and participated in bidding processes.
