Early Development Centre Preschool Program: Specialized programming for children ages 3-5yrs, having speech and developmental delay, autism, attachment difficulties, self and emotional regulation concerns, delays with fine motor and self-help skills and sensory processing concerns. Specialized Classrooms: Specialized Programming for students in Grades 1-12 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other diagnoses and who have moderate to severe cognitive developmental disabilities. OT assists with facilitating the student's participation and learning self help skills, fine motor, executive functioning and regulation skills. Whole School: OT role with students in Kindergarten and Grades includes the following; classroom observations and discussions with Teachers regarding specific students, conducting Universal Classroom Sessions, Targeted Group Sessions and Individual Assessments with strategies for students requiring support with Fine Motor Skills, Social Interaction and Play Skills, Social Thinking, Sensory/Emotional Regulation skills, and Self Help Skills. Specialized Services Program (Occupational Therapist and Team Coordinator) – The Occupational Therapist provides strategies and activities for parents to practice with their child, in order to achieve the child’s maximum level of independence with self-help skills, play and social interaction, fine motor functioning when at home and in the community. The Team Coordinator assists with feeling for and keeping a check on the pulse of the entire team. Understanding the concerns and expectations of the Family as well as the concerns of Professionals on the team and supporting each person involved, to work together to achieve goals set by the Family for the Child.
