MISSION: Helping children with special needs reach their potential. VISION: Our children have the best opportunities to succeed in all areas of their lives. VALUES: The well-being, safety, and success of our children is the highest priority we have. https://the-centre.org/mission-vision-values/ Support our services: the-centre.org/donate WHO WE ARE Since 1953, The Centre for Child Development of the Lower Mainland has worked to overcome societal barriers for those with disabilities and empower vulnerable children & families. We provide specialized pediatric medical rehabilitation services and supports to more than 7,000 children with special needs and their families through ~70,000 service sessions/yr in Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Langley and beyond. THE CENTRE FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT is a 'one stop shop' for children with special needs and their families through specialized paediatric psychologists, social work services, key workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, early childhood educators, supported child development consultants & teachers, recreation specialists, technicians, a dietician and a Doctor specializing in developmental paediatrics. SOPHIE'S PLACE is a child and youth advocacy centre focused on providing specialized services to physically and/or sexually abused children up to age 15 in a child-friendly setting. Sophie's Place is the result of significant collaboration between the Surrey RCMP, Ministry of Children and Family Development, City of Surrey, Ministry of Justice Victim Services and Crime Prevention, and The Centre for Child Development. Sophie's Place enables the collaborating agencies to respond to child abuse in a compassionate and highly integrated manner. With the support of donors, community partners, and funders, we can work towards serving even more children with special needs, helping them reach their potential! You can help us reach that goal by donating: https://the-centre.org/donate
