My career has been a tapestry of diverse experiences, each contributing to my expertise and moulding my perspective. As a Lawyer, I honed my analytical prowess and problem-solving skills. My transition into journalism at the BBC World Service ignited my passion for storytelling and crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. At Maasranga Television, I oversaw the entire news production process, ensuring accurate, timely, and engaging news coverage, deepening my understanding of the media landscape and its power to inform and influence public opinion.My true calling emerged in the non-profit sector. At ActionAid Bangladesh, I progressed through various roles until I reached my position as Deputy Director – Board & Governance; Programme, Policy & Campaigns; Communication. This multifaceted role enabled me to play a crucial part in designing, executing, and leading communication campaigns, managing teams, and advocating for policy change. I also spearheaded the organisation's humanitarian response program during the Rohingya Refugee crisis, demonstrating my ability to navigate complex emergencies and make a significant impact in challenging situations.My role at Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) saw me leading a team of 16 individuals responsible for crafting and implementing the organisation's communication strategies. As a member of TIB's Executive Management Team, I actively contributed to strategic planning, policy development, and overall direction. I played a pivotal role in conceptualising and developing TIB's current data-driven core project, introducing app-based community monitoring at service delivery points to identify gaps in governance and corruption. My instrumental involvement in developing the project proposal and securing funding for this five-year initiative demonstrates my ability to translate strategic vision into tangible and impactful projects.Throughout my career, I have consistently held senior leadership roles, demonstrating my ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams to achieve shared goals. My expertise in organisational governance has enabled me to contribute to the development and implementation of robust governance frameworks that ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices.
