I am in charge of curating and hanging exhibitions for the Art of Healing program at the Penny George Institute, Abbott Hospital & Health West. I also facilitate groups for patients and staff on the arts, dreaming and healing.The Penny George Institute's Art of Healing program recognizes that the arts are an important and therapeutic tool for patients and families. We offer programming for patients, visitors, employees, volunteers and the community including: -music therapy at the bedside to reduce anxiety, stress and pain -exhibits, concerts, classes and other events to explore the healing aspects of art -partnerships and collaborations with community groups to extend our reach beyond our walls.Art ExhibitionsThe Penny George Institute invites artists to display artworks that communicate visions or experiences of health, healing and spirit. These exhibitions change several times throughout the year. All exhibits are free and open to the public.

At Abbott Hospital's Institute for Health and Healing (IHH), Sheila Asato, M.A. lectures, faciltiates workshops and teaches classes on the relationship between dreaming, creativity and healing. She also offers her international award winning Healing Collage (sm) workshops on a regular basis at IHH.

I help women in recovery from addictions tap into dreaming and it's connection with the body as a healing resource.Wayside House is a Minnesota non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with over 55 years of experience in assisting women struggling at the nexus of chemical dependency, mental illness, poverty, and parenting difficulties. Stability and self-sufficiency are major goals. By building relationships and community, providing structured and stable environments, and giving women tools to handle their many challenges, Wayside House partners with women in recovery to create something new: a sober, stable, positive, and happy life.

The International Association for the Study of Dreams is a non-profit, international, multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the pure and applied investigation of dreams and dreaming. Our purposes are to promote an awareness and appreciation of dreams in both professional and public arenas; to encourage research into the nature, function, and significance of dreaming; to advance the application of the study of dreams; and to provide a forum for the eclectic and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and information.
