I own a pattern design company with my two amazing daughters - I took a fashion design and clothing construction class in high school and have been hooked ever since - Our mission is to inspire creativity in others - and to create patterns that make it easy for even beginners to make beautiful products - We sell our patterns and kits to distributors, quilt stores, catalogs, and in pop up shops around the country. We teach many different classes. We designed our own website www.mckaymanormusers.com and run our own marketing campaigns.

I was the ScanJet product manager for tow and one half years - The market is declining for scanners and yet we have been able to grow unit sales by over 70% in the first year - and then in the second year grew sales by 6%, revenue by 12% and profit by 25%.I created SWOT - the ScanJet Wildly Optimistic Team to reward the sales reps that help me grow scanner sales.Conducted 42 training sessions in 52 weeks to raise awareness for HP scanners - each session ended in a fun game to test their knowledge. Developed new sales tools: one page portfolio and questions to ask to narrow scanner needs; thumb drive with all the sales tools, emailer for reps to use to drive sales; annotated images that tell stories; powerful new A+ pages on Amazon.com; photo shoot to get products in 'real' environmentsConducted research with 30 'users' and 30 'choosers' to get a deep understand of how they were using their scanners and how they were choosing their scanners - developed new sales tools for the field based on the insights.Provided units to objective reviewers - three of our ScanJets won the PC Magazines Editor's Choice Award.Celebrated making scanner sales soar by taking the top performers on a Hot Air Balloon ride over the Rio Grande. • Identified all the critical elements of an ‘Ideal’ in-store shopping experience for PCs and Printers. Brought the ideas to life when we set up an entire PC, printer and camera department inside a ballroom for our annual retail executive forum. HP was recognized as the expert and the category leader. It was such a big hit that we ‘moved’ the ‘store’ up to Vancouver, WA and turned it into a shopper insights showcase and lab. Executives and their teams from every single top account in the US visited our lab that year – I was nominated to the Presidents Club for this project and got to spend a week in Cabo!• Tracked and questioned hundreds of online shoppers to identify and develop Internet Best Practices. Conducted audits and made recommendations to improve the online shopping experience for all of our the top accounts in the US• Developed unique consumer shopper journey framework– Led one of the longest running research projects at HP – the infamous select and buy (Sheila) study started in the US and spread around the world. Each year we pulled the story out of mountains of data, highlighted the wins and the pain points, and identified opportunities to remove barriers, grow sales and delight more customers.

Started as a checker while attending college. Joined management training program after graduation. Moved to SLC as an assistant manager – worked in five different stores – survived a robbery at gunpoint – glad to be alive! When I was five months pregnant with my first child, I was promoted to manager and moved back to Logan, Utah. As a store manager I was responsible for all aspects of store operations, customer satisfaction and employee morale and engagement. Ultimately I was responsible for turning a profit in an incredibly competitive environment.
