Mr. Shekhar Dutt is the Director General of Sustainable Project Developers Association. He is the former Governor of Chhattisgarh. Mr. Dutt has been a charismatic leader and instrumental in policy advocacy for the energy sector in India especially Renewable EnergyAn IAS officer of 1969 seniority belonging to Madhya Pradesh Cadre, Mr. Dutt has also served in the Indian Army as a commissioned officer. He is the recipient of Sena Medal for gallantry in 1971 Indo-Pakistan war in the western sector.Mr. Dutt assumed the charge as the Governor of Chhattisgarh w.e.f 23rd January, 2010. Prior to that he was Dy. National Security Advisor from 1st August 2007 where he looked after the issues concerning defense and national security as well as strategic defense. He was the Defense Secretary, of the Government of India. The posts held by Mr.Dutt also include Director General, Sports Authority of India (2001-2003) and Principal Secretary, Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare and Principal Secretary, Departments of School Education, Sports & Youth Welfare, Govt. of M.P (1996-2001).His book titled “Reflections on Contemporary India” was launched by the Honarable President of India.
