About Shelby Servis
I'm passionate about exploring the universe through the lens of computer science and machine learning. As a sophomore CS & ML student with a concentration in computational astrophysics and cosmology, I’m constantly excited about how I can apply my technical skills to cutting-edge research.One of the projects I’m proudest of is with Relativity, where I’m working on quantifying bias in frontier machine learning models. It's fascinating to see how bias impacts these systems, and our work aims to make AI more ethical and just. I’m also diving deep into astro research, building a graph neural network to analyze the properties of cosmic filaments—structures that help us understand the large-scale organization of the universe.Beyond research, I’m dedicated to making STEM more accessible. Helping women and marginalized groups break into tech and science is a cause I deeply care about, and I actively mentor young girls in STEM fields through programs like Technovation Girls.I am skilled in C++ and Python, using tools like NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and Keras.
