Dr. Barry Byrne, MD, PhD & Dr. Manuela Corti, PhD, PT- Assisted in conducting various experiments and biochemical assays related to gene expression and Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAV) used in gene therapy research for neuromuscular degenerative diseases- Presented findings at 2024 UF College of Medicine Celebration of Research- Recorded and analyzed experimental data using multiple computer programs- Maintained laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure smooth workflow

- Offer crisis and suicide intervention services to all residents of Alachua County- Services include 24/7 crisis phone counseling and mobile response care teams, emergency walk-in services and ongoing counseling, and responding to calls from the National 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline- The Crisis Center also provides support during community trauma responses and community education and outreach

- Provide one-on-one care to campers, including assistance with personal care, adaptive activities, and mealtime- Act as a companion and encourager while enthusiastically participating in camp activities to help build campers' self-esteem and confidence- Collaborate with cabin leaders, program directors, and other staff to meet the diverse needs of campers- Gained experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical professions, education, recreation, and family social sciences

- Observed the diagnosis and treatment of various genetic and metabolic disorders- Worked with Genetic Counselors, gaining valuable insights into patient care, genetic testing and counseling

- Shadowed at a leading pediatric neuromuscular clinic where I observed the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders in children- Observed comprehensive patient assessments, cutting-edge therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary collaboration
