Throughout my life, I've been driven by a commitment to serve others with compassion and respect, values deeply rooted in my community. My career in public health has provided me with extensive experience at both the state and national levels, focusing on health policy, research, and analysis.Currently, I serve as an Analyst at the Kansas Health Institute (KHI), where I conduct research, policy analysis, and provide technical support on topics such as population health, access to care, and other critical public health topics. In this role, I am a core team member of the Region 7 TA Hub, which is funded by the CDC's record-breaking Public Health Infrastructure Grant. This historic investment is pivotal in strengthening and modernizing the public health system across the United States, and I am thrilled to contribute to its impactful initiatives.Prior to joining KHI, I was a Senior Analyst on the Access to Care team at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), a national organization based in Arlington, Virginia. In this role, I led initiatives specifically focused on rural health and Community Health Workers. In addition to leading these portfolios, I collaborated with my colleagues on numerous products relating to the Social Determinants of Health. I oversaw federal grant deliverables, managed subcontractor relationships, authored multiple publications, and provided technical assistance to state and territorial health officials.Before my time at ASTHO, I worked at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) as a Legislative Liaison and Policy Analyst, navigating the complexities of public health policy during the COVID-19 pandemic in addition to serving as a lead Liaison for the Division of Environment. At KDHE, I also served as a Data Manager for the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention’s HIV Program.I am excited to bring this wealth of experience back to my home state through my role at KHI and continue my dedication to public service. I am deeply passionate about public health and look forward to furthering my career in health policy to contribute to meaningful, and lasting change.
