I started my career in the water and wastewater industry over a decade ago, attended NAIT water and wastewater program in Calgary Alberta.I was fortunate to join the town of Sylvan Lake utilities team where I completed my practicum and was extended for a year There I did everything from sampling, maintain and monitoring liftstation and water reservoirs, main line flushing, pressure testing, hydrant repair, emergency repairs, locates, operation of wastewater lagoon, treatment of well water for the community. my experience here learning from the team inspire me to coach and mentor the next generation of operators, just as they did for me.I joined the City of St Albert in 2013, and expanded on my knowledge operating a large city system. Focusing on my passion for coaching and mentoring I completed Supervivising for results certificate from Grant Macewan and NAIT Supervisory skills for water and wastewater operators. I expanded more into APWA Public works supervisor Level 1. I have taken on more challenges, working with planning and development engineers on system design, focusing on liftstation and water reservoirs. Being a part of the design phase allows me to give the operator perspective on station functionality and layout.
