Supervised a specialized caseload of pretrial defendants in the community. Caseload mainly comprised of seriously mentally ill defendants and those with co-occurring disorders. Conducted risk assessment to determine appropriate level of supervision and needs assessment to target areas of concern. Facilitated evaluations and referrals for treatment. Collaborated with corrections, health department and other community stakeholders to provide targeted case management services to chronically mentally ill homeless offenders, addressing treatment and stability factors pre and post incarceration to maximize success potential. Participated as a collaborative member of county Mental Health and Drug Courts. Networked on a regular basis with members of the States’ Attorney’s Office, defense counsel, Judges, members of the law enforcement community, treatment providers and other stakeholders regarding defendants’ compliance with court-ordered conditions. Petitioned the Court for bond revocation as necessary and testifies in Court regarding violations of bond conditions. Composed supervision summaries for the Courd to assist in sentencing formulation. Acted in supervisor’s absence when designated. Assisted in training employees on various computer applications, supervision policy and procedures and sound case management practices. Provided coaching to caseworkers regarding supervision practices and court appearances. Acted as liaison with the various agencies providing re-entry services to defendants released pending trial, to include substance abuse assessment and treatment services. Participated in ongoing training in the areas of substance abuse, mental health treatment and other issues relevant to community supervision. Conducted assessment investigations of incarcerated defendants to determine their suitability for release on pretria supervision.
