Hi, I'm Shelley 👋 I'm a ADHD/Autism children & family mentor, SSP Practitioner and Founder of Complex Connexions CIC.In 2020 I set up Complex Connexions with the aim of supporting families, like mine, where there is ADHD/Autism in the mix 😀 I know the feeling of overwhelm and isolation, as the parent of a child who is struggling to go to school, being judged by others and exhausted trying to support your child and the rest of your family too.I have recently gained my Safe and Sound Protocol certification as over the years I have learnt about nervous system regulation and seen that it is at the heart of all we are as humans. I know it is powerful in supporting anxiety, sound sensitivities, auditory processing, social engagement and other struggles often seen alongside neurodivergence.My work as a teacher, SEN support and tutor, working with children with additional needs and their families as well as being ADHD myself, informs my work. I continue to research and learn about the nervous system, co-regulation, executive functions, sensory processing and emotional literacy and use this knowledge as part of all that I do in my work with families.Through Complex Connexions I offer 1-2-1 sessions to help parents take positive steps forward and find more harmony in their family, through more understanding, different communication and stronger connections. I also offer the SSP programme for parents and children to allow these positive steps to be taken more easily.
