Mandate: Launch a new operational risk department; developing all aspects of a strong program, as well as integrating risk management practices throughout the business units• Established operational risk management practices based on the fund administration processes currently in place, as well as an ongoing assessment of the management team’s readiness to adopt new procedures.• Facilitated a forum where front-line management reported to senior management on the progress of risk related items, encouraging accountability and proactive resolutions.• As a key member of the management group, influenced strategic and tactical solutions that would result in a mitigation of operational risks.• Implemented the Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process targeted at identifying weaknesses in the control environment, continuing from an exercise of process mapping all key operations; as well as addressing strategic risks such as staff retention.• Worked with counterparts in London, England and the Luxemburg Head Office to devise clear and meaningful reporting formats and consistency in governance structure.• Evaluated and re-wrote the Business Continuity Plan, and related Communication Plans, as well as departmental Business Impact Analyses; devised testing strategy in line with IT• Implemented an operational risk schedule that leverages assurance work being performed in other areas of the organization (i.e. Compliance, Internal Audit, Trustee), in order to avoid duplication in effort and to reduce demands on front-line resources
