The Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund engages in education and outreach and provides a forum for environmentalists. The Illinois Environmental Council serves as the environmental community’s eyes, ears and voice in Springfield. The two organizations – collectively known as IEC – work together to ensure a more healthful environment for Illinois residents.Since its founding in 1975 by a group of dedicated grassroots environmentalists, IEC has sponsored issue advocacy campaigns and projects by allowing environmental organizations to pool their resources and create a higher profile for environmental issues. Today, IEC represents 60 environmental and community organizations and nearly 300 individuals from throughout Illinois.

Civic Consulting Alliance is a non-profit organization that builds pro bono teams of business experts, government leaders, and its own staff to reshape how the city of Chicago works.Led Program Management Office of the Chicago Climate Action Plan (CCAP) for Chicago's Department of Environment, to ensure CCAP meets its aggressive greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals:- Engaged stakeholders from across 20 City departments to "lead by example" towards achieving CCAP's goals;- Led two teams in studying the economic development opportunities of the CCAP strategies, demonstrating potential for Chicago to double its number of green jobs to 50,000 by 2020, and save up to $1.2 billion in cost;- Created a new process and engaged numerous stakeholders to continuously improve the CCAP;- Managed the development of a new CCAP performance measurement tool;- Managed RFP process for CCAP’s emissions inventory projectLed a project to revise Chicago’s taxicab municipal codes, including a new tiered lease system based on an innovative economic model, to improve: road safety, taxicab fuel-efficiency, taxi drivers’ and owners’ economics, taxicab accessibility for in-need populations, and code enforcement. Within two years of code enactment, Chicago’s number of alternative-fuel taxi cabs increased more than 7-fold to 81% of fleet.Led design of Chicago’s new Office of Sustainability, and assisted in organizational re-design of Chicago’s Department of Environment, to embed sustainability efforts across all City departments.Mentored fellows as Civic Consulting Alliance’s Professional Development Manager.
