Intern
I interned at E-Bridge Pre-school at Sengkang Square for around 6-7 months, which was my first experience working at a mega-centre. During my experience at the centre, I basically played the role of an assistant teacher, i was able to experience the different routines like check-ins and check-outs, and the distribution of food where I had to take note of the dietary restrictions children may have. The goal I had for that internship was for me to form connections with the people I encounter, which would be the children, parents, and my colleagues. Children started gaining their trust in me, with more time we spent together, which allowed me to connect with parents through their children. As I was getting more involved in the children’s lives, parents start to hear more about me through their children, which made them communicate more with me. I managed to get closer with colleagues, and it allowed me to gain new knowledge from experienced Teachers, which can be applied to my future advances.I gained valuable skills like communication skills and classroom management skills as I’ve gained more experience in professional communication, through the internship, through interacting with colleagues and parents. I also learnt how to create resources, and conduct lessons with children.
