My name is Sherri Koehler, I live in Herman, Nebraska. I spent the last twenty-plus years working professionally as a main frame computer programmer in the insurance, finance, and telecommunications arena. I found myself suddenly unemployed due to a corporate restructure. I miss writing programs and finding solutions to the puzzles presented. I always loved writing programs that dealt with finance the most – I got to develop from start to finish an annuities calculator application for an insurance company that I consider my crown jewel in programming. I finally find myself with the time to pursue a goal that I was unable to fully commit my time and effort to. I am seizing the opportunity presented by this hiccup in my career by going back to school. I am pursuing a BS in Accounting at Peru State College. What programmer wouldn’t love the play of data and numbers? My end goal will be to own my own business in the farm community where I currently live. I want to learn more about agricultural accounting and to see if there is a path that will lead me to my end goal.
