Owned and operated a Sue Ann Dry Cleaners and Plant in Old Hickory, TN with an initial annual gross of $60,000. I expanded the business to include a drop store in Mt Juliet and a contract drop store in Donnelson. I started a route to provide dry cleaning services to business in the surrounding communities. I expanded the the business from an initial annual gross of $60,000 to a total annual gross in excess of $240,000 within a three year period. I provided employment for a workforce of 10 people.

As a Marketing Associate called on hospitals, schools, nursing homes, restaurants, bakeries, churches, tribals, conveniencemarts, etc. Solicited orders for food, paper goods, hospital supplies, small appliances, equipment, etc. Assisted managers with new products, new menu ideas, banquet decisions, food costs, food preparation, new market conditions, as well as specials and control of inventories. Solved a wide variety of problems including product changes, transportation, credits and returns. Collected accounts and prepared weekly reports for the District Manager. As a Bid Coordinator in Tennessee for 14 months, I developed bid proposals in response to solicitations from Local,, State and Federal Agencies (example: 123 Metro Schools). Negotiated with brokers and manufacturers to obtain the best prices to strategically bid the highest quality product at the most competitive price and experienced a high success rate. Worked as a Customer Services Representative for four months to learn the internal procedures.

For 3 years , called on existing Retail Associate Dealer Accounts. Opened new accounts, solicited tire orders from accounts, assisted Associate Dealers in merchandising of Goodyear products and conducted sales training for Dealers' sales employees. Handled adjustments and other customer problems, collected past due accounts and created product promotions. As Retail Sales Manager, my responsibilities were retail and contract customer sales and service, store merchandising, sale contests and promotions, credit card applications, computerized inventory and employee work schedules. Personally created the South Community Hospital Employee Program and the Senior Citizen Program. Upon serving as a Retail Salesperson for four months, was promoted to Retail Sales Manager with a 10% raise.
