My responsibilities were to teach the English language subject matter content based on California common core to juniors and seniors. I focused on the five components of reading comprehension, listening and speaking. vocabulary acquisition, grammar and the writing process. I provided individualized lesson plans that targeted each students weak areas. I taught a regular ELD class with students from 10th to 12th grade. In addition I taught SDAIE strategies to English language learners and implemented various learning styles and strategies to address classes as a whole. I assesed students formally and informally on a continuous basis. I provided culurally diverse curriculum and learning environment for all based on gender, race, disabiloties etc. I encouraged parent and student communication throughout the school year. I collaborated with staff to improve best practices and to share student data. I pushed students academically and intellectually to increase their test scores.

My responsibilities were to intervene and improve reading and writing skills for lower and upper primary grade level students as well as creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students. I was involved in the initial assessment of all students and their placement within English strategic classes. I collaborated weekly with regular classroom teachers and aligned their intervention curriculum with class work.

Also , I was responsible for providing strategic lessons to meet the needs of all students and to provide a safe and productive learning environment. Furthermore, I maintained open communication with students and parents about the child's grade. I collaborated regularly with grade level teachers and ther staff.
