Managing all infectious diseases in the North Georgia Health District (Counties: Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens and Cherokee), including TB, HIV, STDs and all other reportable infectious diseases. This includes managing the infectious disease department at North Georgia Health District including communicable disease specialists, registered nurses and support staff. We explore the study and analysis of the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations. Epidemiology is the cornerstone of public health, and shapes policy decisions and evidence-based practice by identifying risk factors for disease and targets for preventive healthcare.

February 2014 to March 2016 Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center (Hospice) – LaGrange, GARegistered Nurse – Responsible for providing competent patient end of life care as well as providing comfort to families dealing with the decline and loss of their loved one. Working with a support TEAM involving Primary physician, Director, Social Workers, Chaplains, Nurses and CNAs to provide care for patient and their families during the final stage of life.

Public Health Nurse Specialist - Provides multidisciplinary health services for patients in the Catoosa County Region through various programs which include: Program Manager of the Breast and Cervical Cancer screening program, Family Planning services (Pap Smears, CBE), HIV and STD testing/education, health checks (physicals), immunizations, Flu shots, TB testing and medications, WIC, nutrition education, and placing emphasis on education and safety in all programs.

Registered Nurse – Working with a team of doctors, nurses and other support staff members on the step-down cardiac unit. Following nurse protocol and doctor’s orders, I provided the best possible care of the patient by administering medications, IV therapy, utilizing telemetry, lab results, radiology, respiratory therapy and other tests for the complete care of the patient.
