I am an applied statistician and computational modeller, with an extensive research background in epidemiology, public health and the behavioural sciences. I am an expert in quantitative analytics, machine learning, visual analytics, social media analytics, and informatics. I have broad research and consulting experience drawing upon my skills in data mining, risk analysis, and predictive analytics using statistical, mathematical, and computational modelling methods, and I am experienced in cloud computing (including AWS), databases and information management. My research and consulting focus is on the spread of contagious disease (including pandemic influenza and coronavirus) and also the contagious spread of human behaviours, including violence and radical extremism. My work has had exceptional impact, many times receiving international media attention, and producing over 400 papers on a wide variety of quantitative topics with over 18,000 citations.I have advanced programming skills in R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, SQL, C++, C, Java, Fortran, Python, Mathematica, Ruby, and Perl.
