Designed a new machine to manufacture gears directly on a variety of small diameter shafts. • Created a full CAD model for a CNC gear hobbing machine by reverse engineering existing manual machine models and adding new innovative design aspects.• Design improvements include: an automated 6 degrees of freedom, an optimal ergonomic working height for the machinist, decreased part creation time by more than 50% relative to manual machines, and the ability for one worker to run two machines simultaneously.• Partnered with vendors to source parts for final production of CAD model components and raw material for manufacture resulting in a 50% cost savings over competitive market products.

Paramount, Ca

• Designed forging models using Catia at each of the steps in the forging process.• Utilized Deform to perform FEA analysis which reduced raw material waste by 10% on existing schematics, a cost savings of ~$50 per part.• Designed and implemented an alternative method of using thrust locks (devices used in forging to prevent misalignment of die halves driven by side forces) to optimize both safety and expenses in the application of thrust locks.

Cared for ten 11 year old boys at a sleep away summer camp. I maintain their safety and make sure every camper was having fun.
