Adobe Designer creates an xml representation of a form known as XFA (XML Forms Architecture), that can be used by other tools, like Adobe Reader that can interpret it and create both static and dynamic PDFs supporting data capture and documents of record. Forms can also be rendered as print documents either as a single document or large batches to PostScript, PCL and/or label printers.

The XML Technology Group delivers the C++ reference implemenation for the XML Forms Architecture (XFA). XFA is a family of XML grammars that describe a data model, user interaction with data (interactive forms) and dynamic documents. It provides sophisticated data merging, form layout capabilities (pagination algorithms), scripting (both JavaScript & FormCalc), rich locale support, fully internationalized complex script rendering, XML Digital Signatures and generates output formats such as PDF, PostScriptPCL and Zebra, and is extensible to more formats. These libraries are also available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris AIX and HP-UX. You can find XFA in Acrobat, LiveCycle Designer, LiveCycle Forms, LiveCyclePrint and SAP WebASThe XTG group through the XFA4J project also provided the reference Java implementation for XFA. (2008-2009)

Joined the team working on JForms a java applet based product that providing form capabilities delivered via web browsers, implemented with JDK 1.2.Later moved to a smaller team initially of 4 tasked with defining and developing the initial reference implementation of the XML Forms Architecture (XFA). Implemented in Java using JavaBeans/Swing UI and XML.Extensive use of UML Diagrams (Rational Rose) during design and implementation stages.

Joined right out of University as a tech support specialist and then moved into development on a small team designing and implementing the RexxWare Migration toolkit, which provided ease of migration from NetWare 3.x to 4.x. Developed using Rexx (an interpreted programming language) based on Simware's network loadable Rexx scripting language RexxWare.
