Chronos Software Group was a side project, started with three friends while a full time college student and working full time. The team operated several websites, the biggest of which was softwarezone.com, a shareware download site. In 1997, softwarezone.com was listed as the 27th busiest site on the web. At the time, none of us were savvy enough to drop out of school or quit our day jobs to cash in on a big dot com IPO. The business was self funded and very slightly profitable so long as we didn't pay ourselves.•Created all front and back end code, initially using IDC and stored procedures and then ASP.•Designed, maintained, and optimized databases.•Implemented adaptive search engine optimization tools, including ISAPI filters in c++.•Implemented chat software and dynamic messaging system in Java.•Managed in-house (literally in my house) and colocated servers.

BHS was a small, private company primarily known for operating the Windows NT Resource Center. The Windows NT Resource Center, at the time, was the most popular website for Windows IT professionals, generating several million dollars in advertising revenue annually. BHS also offered professional services, creating software for sites such as the Super Bowl and the Oscars. It was eventually acquired by Internet.com.•Led team of three developers.•Implemented numerous site modules including a comprehensive job site, threaded discussion forums, data driven shareware download site, and others leading to improved user experience, scalability, and increased traffic.•Implemented back end modules such as ad banner delivery and tracking system and database administration tools.•Implemented numerous professional services projects including an online dating site for the wealthy.

Served as an attendant and driver of a basic life support ambulance, working nights to put myself through school. Responded to 911 calls with various fire and police department agencies. Saw some heavy stuff.
