    In this role, I was in-charge of thin film deposition laboratory where I mentored numerous graduate & undergraduate students. I used pulsed laser deposition (PLD) & various characterization techniques to research several materials in thin film form. The highlights of my research include -● I studied spintronics & diluted magnetic materials such as Co:TiO2, Co:ZnO, & Co:SnO2● For the first time I realized epitaxial Ba2Fe12O19 films & showed that they exhibit microwave losses comparable to single crystals. I also showed that by applying a proper buffer layer, the stress in these films can be virtually eliminated & a number of spin resonance modes can be excited.● I was the first to report superconducting MgB2 thin films by vacuum deposition technique● I also studied thin films of many other materials including, complex perovskites such as (La,Ca)MnO3 & Sr2FeMoO6, Fe3O4, & YBa2Cu3O7● Rutherford backscattering spectrometry for thin films analysis● Worked as a consultant for MRAM company to research technology & relevant materials
