Following recognition as one of South Africa’s Brightest Young Minds, I was one of eight (8) young South Africans profiled by CEO Magazine as destined to shape the economy of the country in the future. I was recognized by Mckinsey and Company as an Exceptional Young Professional joining them for their first Sub-Saharan African Crossroads Conference. A trained Chemical Engineer, I also conducted post-graduate research into lead replacement fuel for a large oil company and worked on optimizing smelter operations with Anglo Platinum.Since that time I have worked in a range of strategist and commercial turnaround roles for Absa Bank Small Business (within two months of joining he was promoted to the newly created role of Head of Strategy and Planning), and I was appointed Strategic Projects Manager at Old Mutual Investment Group – Property Investments after only three years having joined from university. I rose through Old Mutual to Junior Management after 6 months and Property Business Unit General Management after 20 months turning around non-core businesses in Card, Retail, Film, Education and Sport for optimization or disposal. I was Chairman of the Employment Equity Committee and Head of Customer Service Program, Imprint. I wrote the defining strategic foundation for the Old Mutual Group (OMSA, Nedbank and Mutual and Federal) Customer Engagement initiatives. As well as fulfilling my consultancy role with CARDIO, I am the founder of Shingara Integrated Investments(SII) which provides financial, industrial and consulting expertise in the context of social and economic development. I am a founding member of the Academic Advisory Council of TSiBA Education University and became Southern Africa youngest motivational speaker sought-after for public speaking particularly on Executive MBA programmes. I am a Southern African award winning and internationally recognized Competent Toastmaster, as well as being nationally recognised for my poetry anthology.
