Managed the network, telecom, Hotline 24/7 Call Center technical support, data center and desktop support for an agency with 11,000+ employees statewide in 350 + locations. Supervised 100 + technical staff statewide as well as contract employees serving in an outsourced contract on a full-time basis.

Shift Supervisor for staff answering incoming requests for help via phone and email from customers using the new online banking system. Staff responded to written inquiries from customers using company standards. My team also handled inquiries in Spanish. I authored 50+ automatic responses to common questions to assist staff who had limited knowledge of Spanish.

Operated small company that exported computer equipment to Mexico and imported silver jewelry and food products from Mexico.

Hired by the governor to manage the purchase, installation and administration of typhoon warning systems, HazMat equipment, and computer systems to support the Office of Emergency Operations.

2 years as Director of Technical Training to manage the curriculum development and ongoing training support for implementation of 3500 desktop computers to statewide staff who had not previously incorporated computers into their work environment. Also represented the DC for project planning and implementation of further phases of incorporation of use of computers for remaining staff at agency. Responsible for the reorganization and training of 100+ data processing staff whose jobs had changed significantly due to the change in business processes resulting from introduction of desktop computers into the workplace.

Because of the success of the Puerto Rico project (see below), was hired by consulting firm to conduct similar project in Arizona. Conducted similar project in Louisiana. Also performed systems analysis and software design for oil and gas company software as well as work measurement studies for Department of Human Services (Austin) and the Social Security Administration (Phoenix).

Recruited by USDA to replicate a project previously conducted in Texas for the Department of Human Services in Puerto Rico. Analyzed existing operations at over 100 local offices for the Food Stamp Program; worked with Industrial Engineer consultants to design a new work method for all staff. Assisted in implementation and lectured to counterparts from 37 other states regarding the work and analysis method model for their adaptation.

Worked in the Food Stamp Program as a caseworker, then promoted to supervisor while attending college full-time (nights and weekends). Completed college degree from 8/73 - 12/74 while on leave of absence. Returned to state service as project manager for work management study of the statewide Food Stamp Program. Supervised a team of 4 consultants (Industrial Engineers) and 4 staff to analyze work methods and design standard method for operations. Success of project gained national recognition and led to further projects in Puerto Rico, Arizona, and Louisana.
