February 1, 2022Today is the first day of a new life. 46 years in the service business. When it stopped being fun I had to get out but even at that it was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. This business gave me and my children a good life. They are all talented, successful and all took their turn in the business. They learned that owners make huge sacrifices. They understand those two sides of the coin the employer and the employee. That is probably the most valuable lesson this business taught them. Today it’s a different world. I worry we are loosing our humanity, not because the pope says we aren’t having children, but because we are so selfish we have found a way to not do everything in our power to protect each other. What if those first people suffering TB such as my Mom had, didn’t accept treatments never before tried.? Today their are numerous victims of post-polio syndrome just a very few years older than me. My parents did what they could to protect me and I received an unproven vaccine. I don’t care where you thoughts are with respect to vaccines but get all the facts then be kind. Have the vaccine or don’t but choose to wear a mask, stay a distance from me and mine and for heavens sake BE KIND. Where did kindness and respect for each other go? Wherever my path takes me, everyone who knows me, knows I will walk my path with empathy and kindness …. always. Thank you to my customers, some of whom I’ve known for 45 years! What a tribute to our family to have these people part of our lives for so many years. We are blessed to count many customers as friends. This decision was tough, my anxiety for my customers is real. Know I appreciate all of you for your support. Thank you to our Field Service Managers and Customer Service Agents that I have had the privilege of working with. We laughed together, welcomed new spouses, new babies, new pets, and lost some wonderful people. We cried over 911 together and reached out to each other in times of anxiety. You are already missed. To the parts companies that partnered with us and the value you brought. Again laughter is what I most remember, taking 2 minutes to make sure we were happier when we got off the phone. To the sales companies thank you for your support. Gosh there are so many that are still part of this journey. You know what you’ve meant to me because I’ve told you. We had our struggles but working together we got the job done.Now I guess I will see where life goes next. Anyone got a great part time job??
