Basil is a first-year M.S in Accounting student at the Fordham Graduate School of Business with 3.625 GPA. Prior to business school, he graduated from Renmin University of China in 2014 with B.S in Accounting and 3.49 GPA.He is working at Urban Upbound as an advanced VITA volunteer now. He works two days a week and has prepared more than 25 tax returns till Feb 27th. He communicates with clients about income, health insurance and expenses in 2014 to help low income people maximize accuracy and amount of both Federal and New York State refund.He worked for Ernst & Young as an audit intern in 2013. He participated in the annual audit of GOME, the largest electronic retailer in China. He prepared essential documents and performed year-by-year comparisons to help his team execute part of tests of controls and some substantive procedures. Additionally, using time management skills, he accomplished the annual audit as a team on time in spite of a tight schedule. What’s more, he worked for MUJI, a Japanese retailer, as an assistant in 2012. Through these internships, Basil solidified his communication, teamwork, problem solving and analytical skills. Meanwhile, he developed new understanding of the retail industry and strong interests in auditing.
