Shonta Chambers is a seasoned non-profit executive and public health professional with over 25 years of experience in chronic disease prevention, health promotion, community engagement and women’s health. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the American Express Leadership Academy. She is currently the Executive Vice President of Health Equity and Community Engagement at Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), a national organization that provides case management and financial assistance to patients with chronic and life-threatening conditions.In her role, Shonta develops and executes PAF’s national strategy to address health equity, with a specific focus on minority populations with limited basic and health literacy, and high chronic disease morbidity and mortality. She leads program initiatives that support person-centered care, identify gaps, and align resources to mitigate health care barriers. She also strategically engages with grassroots community organizations and partners with other stakeholders to promote health equity and access. As a caregiver of her parents who live with chronic conditions, Shonta leverages her personal and professional experience to amplify the critical role and needs of informal caregivers in our society.
